I am a licensed professional hair stylist with over 20 years experience in hair styling and makeup artistry. My personal and academic knowledge along with my expertise, skills, creativity and stylistic methods are unparalleled,
As a passionate hair stylist, I truly understand that hair styling is a client-based service that requires an individualistic approach as each and every women's needs and desires are different.
Customer service is my top priority. I strive to ensure that each and every client leaves my studio with the hair style and overall look they desire. To ensure client satisfaction, I offer clients a free, no charge consultation prior to the booked appointment. This allows clients an opportunity to explain what hair style they desire and/or may be contemplating. At this time I give my honest professional opinion and discuss further style options. This time also allows me to visualize my clients requests and discuss hair type options, product brands and/or accessories best suited for their needs. In addition to this, I make sure to address any potential concerns that may be associated with various styles and treatments.
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
As far back as I can remember hairstyling has always been a personal interest and a skill that came natural to me. Over time my interest became my passion.
Starting out as a mobile hair stylist, I would travel to friends, family members and clients homes to provide hairstyling services. As my clientele expanded over the years, I began to work from home in order to accommodate client requests. As my passion grew I made the decision to further my education and enrolled into the Marvel Beauty School, previously located in Downtown Toronto, Ontario.
In 2005, while attending Marvel Beauty School I was approached, offered and accepted an apprenticeship position with an established, high traffic hair salon in the Toronto area. During my apprenticeship, I expanded my knowledge not only in hairstyling but in the operation and management of a hair salon.
While employed as a hair stylist, I decided to further my education and passion in women’s beauty and accepted an employment contract with MAC Cosmetics. It was at this time I gained extensive knowledge of various professional makeup products, applications and techniques for daytime, evening and special events, i.e. Bridal Events.
Over the years I continued to learn, perfect and hone my skills as a hair stylist and makeup artist. In the late 2000’s, I decided to invest further into my career making the entrepreneurial decision, opening and establishing my very own hair and makeup studio. Although this was a frightening yet exciting decision to be made, I believed in myself and kept my faith and eventually my dreams came to fruition.
Over 20 years later, Tamia’s Touch Hair Studio has evolved into a well-known, reputable hair studio for women proudly offering hair care and makeup services to women of all ethnicities.
